Wood Firing:
The Cub Creek wood kiln Is a 500 cu ft three chamber noborigama. The fired results of the first tube chamber very much emulate the results of anagama, producing significant impact from the ash and fire. The second chamber (125 cu ft) produces flashing on raw ware, rich Shinos and significantly alters other glazes. The third chamber (100 cu ft) is a wood fired salt chamber.
Gas:
Our gas kiln is a 100 cu ft sprung arch soft brick kiln. It is perfectly balanced at cone 10 and produces consistently beautiful reduction glazes.
Salt:
The Cub Creek salt kiln is a 70 cu ft caternary arch and has recently been rebuilt.
Electric:
Two Skutt electric kilns are located in the kiln shed. These kilns range between 7 and 11 cubic feet.
